Interesting facts : This beautiful red coloured box with a matching lid was originally used to store single powder colour in Old times. Mostly it was used by the Indian Women to store vermilion which was put by married women on their forehead everyday in India. The box is considered holy by many Indian Communities. Vermilion is a dense, opaque pigment with a clear, brilliant hue.

Like all our vintage treasures, they are old and show a perfect level of imperfections which may include some crackle textures on the finish, variants of colour, chips and unevenness in shape, & scratches , all adding to the character & charm of the product that we love. They are antiques & each one is slightly different in either shape or colour.

Easy hand dusting with a damp cloth is advisable. Do not wash in the dishwasher or even in soapy water unless you wish to wash away all that beautiful natural finish. We have cleaned them but not too much as we don't want to take away the beautiful patina.
